The largest of three pyramids constructed around 2500 B.C. y kings of Egypt, the Great Pyramid of the pharaoh Khufu (called Cheops by the Greeks) is located at Giza on the West Bank of the Nile River. Although most of the stone were taken from nearby quarries, some came from across the Nile and other, more distant quarries.
