Description
Study of the brain holds promise and fascination for almost every edu- cator and parent. Recent strides in the field of neuroscience are impact- ing and changing the quality and quantity of information on the brain. Modern medical technology and brain scans enable us to view the brain while it’s alive and functioning. We can literally see which areas of the brain are involved in various thought processes. Observing the brain while in action provides rich information on attention, making mean- ing, memory, and social/emotional development; confirming many things we’re already doing in education and giving insight into mean- ingful changes. The field of cognitive neuroscience opens the doors to understanding the brain, adding to medical findings, pedagogy and child rearing.
