Description
This volume originated with a series of working papers developed during the first round of the DFG-funded Transatlantic Graduate Research Program (TGK)
“Berlin – New York: History and Culture of the Metropolis in the 20th Century” from 2005-2007, located at the Center for Metropolitan Studies, Berlin. During
the second round of TGK, from 2008-2011, the idea for this edited volume emerged and we greatly found new members of the TGK, both fellows and members of the advisory board, who were willing to submit original essays for this volume.
